Wesley Bub Van Nort

Frankfort Hill - Mr. Wesley "Bub" Van Nort, 74, of 220 Jackson Rd passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007 peacefully in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Frankfort on April 18, 1933, the son of the late Lester Francis and Margaret Farrell Van Nort and he attended Frankfort Hill and Utica schools. He served with the US Army during Korean War and was Honorably Discharged on February 3, 1955. He was married to Sally Walsh on October 4, 1958 in Schuyler. Sally passed away on April 21, 1997. He was at one time employed as a mechanic for Mc Cory Buick, Utica and as a driver for E & L Trucking and later for Costello Paving. Bub was later employed as driver for Herkimer County Highway Department, Herkimer for many years. He was of the Catholic faith Bub is survived by one son, Wesley Van Nort Jr of Frankfort; two daughters and one son in law, Kim Pye & her companion, Mark Yerdon of Frankfort and Brenda & Paul Mierek Sr of Westernville; brother & sister in law, William & Nancy Van Nort of West Winfield; his grandchildren, SPC Martin W. & his wife, Sara Mierek serving with the US Army stationed in Germany, Kyle W. Pye of Frankfort, Paul Mierek Jr of Westernville and Shane Mierek of Westernville; his special niece, Marjorie Zediker of Brookfield; a special friend, Mary Dewhurst and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, PFC Lester H. Van Nort USMC KIA Korea. His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 am in the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. John Yanas, officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lake Cemetery with full Military Honors.
