VIRGINIA E. DINITTO

Frankfort – Virginia (Ginger) E. DiNitto, 87, of Frankfort passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, NY.

She was born In Plattsburgh, NY on September 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Lucy (Edie) LaFontaine.  She graduated from Dannemora High School in 1954.  On November 27, 1980, she married Anthony DiNitto and enjoyed a wonderful marriage until his passing on December 31, 2012.

Ginger worked for many years at WKTV and even after retirement, could not sit idly.  She worked at Melrose Supermarket until health issues finally forced her to take it easy.  She always loved having a house full of people and hosted some of the greatest parties ever.

Ginger is survived by her son and daughter in law, Joseph and Mimi Sullivan of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren Jessica Hibbert and Sara Sullivan, great grandchildren Jonathan, Dylan, Keagan, and Jameson; her very special DiNitto step-family; her special son, Roberto Mora Galvis of California and several loved nieces and nephews.  An extra special and loving thanks to her great friend, Christie Noffer.  Your compassion can never be measured. She was predeceased by her sisters, Naomi and Patricia; her brothers, Adrian and James.

Her funeral will be held Monday morning, October 31, 2022 at 10:00 in the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort with Rev. Paul Catena, officiating. Interment will be Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
