Herkimer - Mrs. Vera Prawlocki, 86, of 105 Protection Ave formerly of S. Washington St. passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Herkimer on June 5, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Typkiewicz Gromadzky and she attended Herkimer schools. She was married to John Prawlocki Sr on June 5, 1943 in SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Mr. Prawlocki passed away on August 20, 1997. Mrs. Prawlocki was employed as an assembler for Univac, Ilion and later for H.M. Quackenbush, Herkimer until her retirement in 1983. She was a devout member of S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church and the St. Anne's Sisterhood.
Vera is survived by one son & daughter in law, John & Rebecca Prawlocki of FL; one daughter, Sonia Buttino of Canastota; her daughter in law, Sandy Prawlocki of PA; her cherished grandchildren, Kyra & her husband, Eric Hawn both serving with the U S Navy, Daria & her husband, Kevin Pennington, Christina & her husband, Tyson Mc Curdy, Adam Prawlocki, Adrien Prawlocki, Nicolle Buttino Hollaway & her husband, Jeff Hollaway both serving with the US Air Force and Aaron Buttino, serving with the US Army; her great grandchildren, Ethan Hawn, Daniel Hawn, Luke Hawn, Nicholas Pennington, Alexander Pennington and Triston Mc Curdy; her in laws, Olga Prawlocki, Ann Jovorosky and Michael Prawlocki and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Frank Prawlocki on June 4, 1998, one grandson, Justin Prawlocki on December 21,1978 and two sisters, Stefania Gromadzky and Ruby Stehnach.
Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 am in S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church with the Archpriest James M. Jadick, pastor officiating. Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Parastas will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home with Fr. Jadick officiating. Contributions in Vera's memory may be made to S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Main St., E. Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
