Frankfort - Mr. Thomas P. Loiacano, 86, of the Masonic Care Community, formerly of First Ave. passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Masonic Care Community with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Ilion on May 25, 1928, the son of the late Dominick and Mamie Castellano Loiacano and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Amelia Papa on December 7, 1947 in Frankfort. Thomas was a Foreman for Union Tools, Frankfort for many years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church in Frankfort, the Exempt Frankfort Volunteer Fireman and was an avid golfer.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Amelia Loiacano of Utica; one son and daughter in law, Thomas and Maureen Loiacano of Spring, TX; two daughters, Deborah Lisandrelli and her companion, Thomas Schenkenberger of E. Syracuse and Judith and William Kennedy of Sandy Hook, CT; his beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Scott Loiacano and his wife, Becca, Megan and her husband, Jedediah Almond, Mark Loiacano and his wife, Danielle, Rocco Lisandrelli, Amy and her husband, Chris Noye, Shannon and her husband, Ryan Cove and Sean Kennedy; his great-grandchildren, Scott Loiacano, Benjamin Almond, Hannah Almond, Dominic Loiacano, Brayden Noye, Carly Noye, Laila Almond and Genevieve Loiacano; one brother, Joseph Loiacano of Ilion; two sisters and one brother in law, Mary Cushman of Mohawk and Beatrice and Joseph Tocco of West Winfield and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew Loiacano and Samuel Loiacano and four sisters, Josephine Farouche, Rosalie Cushman, Virginia Papa and Mamie Bello.
His funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Morning Star United Methodist Church, Acme Rd. Frankfort, where a funeral service will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Wollaber. Interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday evening from 4-7 PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
