Theresa Bongiorno

Herkimer - Theresa Bongiorno, 80, of Herkimer passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Foltsbrook.

She was born in Ilion, New York, on January 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Sylvester Bongiorno. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1962. She later attended and graduated from Utica School of Commerce. Theresa was employed by M D S, Herkimer for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Terry always had a smile on her face and enjoyed bingo and reading her bible.

Theresa is survived by her sister in law, Mary Bongiorno of Frankfort and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers,  Dominick Bongiorno, George Bongiorno, Phillip Bongiorno, and Anthony Bongiorno; her sisters, Marie Clements, Agnes Salvaggio , Frances Bongiorno and Rose Bongiorno; her niece, Mary Bongiorno, and nephew, Nicholas Bongiorno.

Her funeral will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort, and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena, pastor. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Sunday, January 12 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.

Terry’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Foltsbrook for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her stay and passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
