Susan Staring

Susan M. (Haynes) Staring of Mohawk, NY passed away peacefully after a courageous battle at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, with her children by her side.

She was born on November 14, 1962 in Glens Falls to the late Joseph Haynes and Theresa (Etu) Haynes. Susan attended Mohawk Schools and later continued her education at HCCC. As a teenager, Sue worked at her father’s Harley Davidson shop, where she got to be a master of motorcycles. Then she went on to work at Harley Davidson of Utica for 10 years. She was a compassionate caregiver at the Herkimer ARC. On October 19, 2002 Susan married George Staring, a union of 9 years prior to his passing in 2011.

Susan was selfless, funny, and caring. She loved spending time with her family. Her daughters and her grandchildren were her world.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Theresa Staring and her fiancé Jon Marquise and Molly Staring; brothers, Joe and Mark Haynes and surrogate sister, Janice LeFrois. Susan is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Max, Liam, and Oliver as well as several nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Theresa Haynes, her husband, George Staring and her sister, Marie Joiner.

In keeping with Susan’s wishes there will be no public funeral services.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
