Mohawk - Mr. Steven Zuk, 69, of Walnut St. passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Papenburg, Germany on July 18, 1946, the son of the late Mychajlo and Melania Kudluk Zuk. The family immigrated to the United States where he attended Herkimer schools and he graduated from Herkimer High School. He was married to Marilyn Grippe on August 31, 1974 in Herkimer Pentecostal Church. Steve was employed as a Manager for The Compassion Coalition in Utica for many years. He was a member of Redeemer Church in Utica and was ordained a Pastor.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn Zuk; two sons, Nathaniel and Macaul Zuk of Clinton and Jonathan Zuk and Sarah Kucerak of Herkimer; his beloved grandchildren, Liam, Cole and Sonja; one sister, Stephanie Zuk of Herkimer; his in laws, Cheralyn and George Fedinatz, Louis Grippe, Barbara and Scott Edwards, CSM Frank Grippe and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Mary Clapper.
His funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 6 PM in Redeemer Church, 931 Herkimer Rd, N. Utica with the Pastor Michael Servello and Pastor Charles Sweet, officiating. Calling hours will be held at Redeemer Church Tuesday afternoon from 4 PM until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours will also be held Wednesday morning from 11 AM - 12 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
