Frankfort - Steven David Zacaroli, Jr., 31, of Frankfort, passed away after losing his battle with heroin addiction on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.

He was born in Ilion on May 17, 1986, the son of Steven D. Zacaroli, Sr. and Gloria Plano. He attended Frankfort Schools and graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High School with the class of 2004. He attended MVCC, majoring in Substance Abuse Counseling. Steven was employed as a counselor for Insight House in Utica.

Steven loved music, belonged to several bands over the years and enjoyed performing at open mic nights at the Tramontane Café.  Nothing brought Steven more joy than attending live concerts with his father, sister and many friends. He was an avid Star Wars fan. Steven was always the comic, with a smile that could light up any room. He surrounded everyone with his kindness and compassion and was loved by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.

Steven is survived by his mother, Gloria Plano Zacaroli and her fiancé Ed Smith; his father, Steven Zacaroli, Sr.; one sister, Adrienne Zacaroli of Newport News, VA; aunts and uncles, Carl and Joanne Plano, Joe and Anne Plano, Ellen Laura, Richard and Laurie Zacaroli, Tim and Diane Spera and Tony and Elaine Saccoia and several cousins.

His funeral will be held Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 at 9:45 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave.Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St. Frankfort, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4-7 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
