Whitesboro - Mrs. Stella Polomoscanik, 79, of 1 Cheriton Dr. passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 in The Pines at Utica with her family by her side.
She was born in Springfield, NY on March 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Harry and Vera Tkacz Tolopka and she attended Richfield Springs schools and graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1952. She later attended CCBI in Syracuse where she received her Associates Degree in Business. She was married to Michael Polomoscanik on July 20, 1957 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Herkimer. Michael passed away on March 5, 1988. Stella was an Administrative Assistant for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. in New Hartford for many years until retirement. She attended St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Rochester for many years and St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Herkimer. She was also a member of the Whitestown Seniors.
Stella is survived by four sons and three daughters in law, Michael Polomoscanik and his wife, Heather of Parker, CO, Lt. Col. Ronald Polomoscanik, US Air Force, and his wife Debbie of Lawrenceburg, IN, Joseph Polomoscanik of Whitesboro and Steven Polomoscanik and his wife Winnie of Methuen, MA; two sisters and one brother in law, Olga and Charles Blunt of Whitesboro and Anne Blazej of Egg Harbor, NJ; her four beloved grandchildren, Lilly, Faith, Luke and Emily and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer with the V.Rev. Ivan Semko officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Parastas will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home with Fr. Semko, officiating.
