Stella Chrjapin

Brunswick, GA - Herkimer - Mrs. Stella Chrjapin, 89, formerly of John Ave, Herkimer, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles with her family by her side. Stella was born in Sbarcz, Ukraine, on May 4, 1925 and obtained her education there. She was married to Wasil Chrjapin on May 29, 1948 in Hersfeld, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on December 18, 2003. Stella was employed as a Seamstress for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Sisterhood. Stella is survived by her sons, LCDR Victor Chrjapin, USN (Ret.) and his wife Karen, EMC Alex Chrjapin, USN (Ret.) and his wife Thelma, daughter Jenny and husband Kenneth Bugaj Sr. and her beloved grandchildren: Kelly Chrjapin Dorais and husband Eric, Valery Anne Howard and husband Danny, LT Jeffery Chrjapin, USNR and fiancée Melissa, Alex Chrjapin II, MSgt Jason Chrjapin, USMC and wife Jennifer, MM1 Kenneth Bugaj Jr. USN, Justin Bugaj, Stephanie Bugaj, Melanie Bugaj, Amy Bugaj-Batty and husband Mark. Seven beloved, great-grandchildren include Jude, Patrick, Logan, Peyton, Ashley, Marissa, and Hailey, and one great-great granddaughter, Briella. Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, April 13 from 5-8 PM with a Parastas service at 7:00 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Stella's memory be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Moore Ave., Herkimer, NY 13350.
