Mr. Stanley Godlewski
Herkimer- Mr. Stanley Godlewski, 88, of Lansing St passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 in St. Luke´s Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Newville, NY on May 11, 1917, the son of the late Karol and Katherine Paliwoda Godlewski and he attended Herkimer schools. He served during World War II with the US Army in Africa and the European Theater with the 78th Engineering Battalion and was Honorably Discharged on November 17, 1945. Stanley was employed by Remington Rand and later for Delwood Foods, Herkimer for many years until his retirement in 1980. He was a Communicant of Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church.
Stanley is survived by his two beloved sisters, Irene Polczynski and Jane Godlewski both of Herkimer; his loving nieces and nephews, Robert & Sandra Gorczynski of New York Mills, Dorothy Gorczynski of Utica, Sharon Godlewski of Utica, Kathleen & Joseph Nurod of Schuyler, Linda & Achille Madia of Herkimer, Deborak & Eric English of Herkimer, Walter Godlewski & Heather of Little Falls, Chris Godlewski & Kathy of New York Mills, Diane & David Dekkers of Marcy, Donald & Rosemary Polczynski of Clinton, Gail Godlewski of Utica, Cheryl & Tim Forbes of Mohawk, Edward & Diane Godlewski of Herkimer, Faye & William Richer of Herkimer, Mark & Kathy Godlewski of Schuyler, Joan Godlewski of Herkimer and Karl Godlewski of Rome and several great nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters in law, John Godlewski, Chester & Betty Godlewski, Joseph & Marguerite Godlewski and Benjamin & Elizabeth Godlewski, one sister & brother in law, Mary & Stephen Gorczynski and one brother in law, Donald Polczynski.
His funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony And Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
Stanley´s family would like to thank the ICU of Faxton-St. Luke´s Hospital and Dr. Garg and Dr. Gaffney for their kindess and consideration shown to him during his final days.
