Sophie Soposki

Herkimer-Mrs. Sophie Soposki, 86, of 323 Eastern Ave passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 peacefully in her home. She was born in Herkimer on April 3, 1920, the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Bukatko Andrukonis. She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School. She was married to Peter Soposki on October 21, 1939 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Mr. Soposki passed away on December 1, 1993. Sophie was at one time employed as a seamstress for Gordon's Dress Factory, Herkimer. She was a Communicant of St. Francis De Sales Church Sophie is survived by her faithful and devoted daughter, Patricia Soposki of Herkimer; one sister, Wanda Bundyk of Bradenton, FL; her two sisters in law, Cecilia Soposki and Ann Soposki both of Jordanville; her very close friends, Frances Zuis, Linda Knight and Judy Schad and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her twin sons, Robert and Ronald Soposki in 1950 and one brother, Edmund Andrukonis. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 am from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 11:00 am in St. Francis De Sales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery later in the spring. Calling Hours will be Friday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
