Sidney J. Vivacqua

Frankfort – Mr. Sidney J. Vivacqua, 95, of Frankfort passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Little Falls Hospital.

He was born in Frankfort on November 1, 1925, the son of the late Fedele and Theresa Sylvester Vivacqua and he attended schools in Frankfort. He served with the US Army during World War II in the European Theater and was Honorably Discharged on May 17, 1946.  Sid was married to Helen Sanders on February 7, 1948 in Annunciation Church, Ilion. Helen passed away on August 22, 2000. Sid was employed by Foster Paper Co., Utica for many years and later for Union Fork And Hoe Co., Frankfort. Sid was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Columbiana Society, St. Francis Society and the Herkimer VFW.

Sid is survived by two sons, Chuck Vivacqua of Herkimer and Sidney Vivacqua Jr. of Frankfort; one sister, Agnes Wilk of Frankfort; his brother-in-law, Carl Streeter of Ilion; a very special niece, Teresa Vivacqua of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Eramo and Mary Foglia and eight brothers, Frank Vivacqua, Nick Vivacqua, George Vivacqua, James Vivacqua, Joseph Vivacqua, Fred Vivacqua, Carl Vivacqua and Salvatore Vivacqua.

His funeral will be held Wednesday morning, June 30, 2021 at 10:15 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 11;00 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the his great nephew, Rev. Frank Vivacqua. Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 29 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the V. J.  Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.

Members of the VFW will meet Tuesday at 6:30 and the St Francis Society at 7:00 at the funeral home for services. Sid's family would like to extend a very heartful thank you to the nurses and staff of Little Falls Hospital for the wonderful care and kindness shown to him during his stay and passing.
