Mrs. Shirley Griffin Frankfort - Mrs. Shirley Griffin, 82, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 29, 2006 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Little Falls on March 24, 1924, the daughter of the late Harold and Florence Livsey Greenlees and she attended Whitesboro schools. She was married to Kenneth W. Griffin on May 25, 1946 in St. Matthew's Church, Utica, a blessed union of 60 wonderful years. Mrs. Griffin was employed in the Dietary Department of Charles T. Sitrin Home, New Hartford for many years. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Humane Society of the United States. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth W. Griffin; her five children, Kenneth J. Griffin of Ilion, Karen & Tod Johnston, Janet Griffin Trompczynski, Susan Griffin & her fiancee, Nick Galotti, all of Frankfort and Jarvis Griffin & his companion, Kaya Linebeck of Utica; five grandchildren, Amy Barringer of Frankfort, Shirley & her husband, Wayne Farnsworth of Schuyler, Shelley & her husband, John Furner of New Hartford, Petty Officer Tod & his wife, Brandy Johnston serving with the US Coast Guard in CT and Kenneth W. Griffin of Utica; six great grandchildren, Gregory Barringer, Johnathan Furner, Madison Furner, Tod Johnston, Michelle Farnsworth and Rachel Farnsworth; her in laws, James & Jean Griffin of Whitesboro and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Alice Marsden, Florence Frey and Evelyn Chapman, two brothers, Charles Greenlees and Thomas Greenlees and one grandson in law, Daniel Barringer. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, pastor of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Saturday morning from 9:30 until the time of the service at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Shirley's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Paula Vecchio and staff, Hospice and At Home Healthcare for all their kindness and compassion shown to her during her illness and passing.
