Shirley Marie Collins

Franklin, NJ - Mrs. Shirley M. Collins, age 85, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 at Saint Clare's Hospital in Sussex, NJ. Shirley was born in Utica on September 20, 1925, the daughter of the late George and Pearl Davenport Riley. She grew up in Gloversville and Albany, NY and has resided in Franklin, NJ for the past 40 years. Shirley was married to Thomas Collins. Mr. Collins passed away on September 11, 2007. Mrs. Collins worked at AT&T in Albany and later retired from Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway Twp, NJ where she was an Administrative Assistant. She was a competitive bridge player and an animal lover. Mrs. Collins is survived by her 3 daughters, Suzan Wronka and her husband, Alex of West Winfield, NY, Cynthia Collins of Franklin, NJ and Barbara Griffin and her husband, Rich of Oxford, NJ; five grandchildren, Alexius, Anthony, Matthew, Thaddeus and Elizabeth Wronka; one sister, Carol Bell of New Hartford, NY; one brother and sister in law, Berne and Rose Watkins; her in laws, James and Jane Collins, Jane Carter and Blanche Riley and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, George and Robert Riley and a sister, Patricia Riley. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:15 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:00 The Church of the Annunciation where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V. Rev Anthony Barrett and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6-8PM at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Father John's Animal House, 50 Father John's Lane, Lafayette, NJ 07848.
