Sharon A. Sluyter

Herkimer - Ms. Sharon A. Jacobson Sluyter, 72, of 104 N. Washington St passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Albany Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Ilion on February 8, 1943, the daughter of the late Stewart W. and Marie E. Covell Jacobson and she attended Ilion schools. She was at one time married to Ross Sluyter. She was a member of Herkimer Reformed Church. She enjoyed knitting and painting, but most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family. Sharon is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Kimberly and John LiBritz of Ilion and Stephanie Sluyter and her fiancé, Jaycib Barker of Herkimer; one son, Scott Sluyter and his fiancé, Patience Budine of Ilion; five grandchildren, Kelly Hopson, Josephine Berg, Caitlin Berg, Ethan Berg and Jaycib Barker, Jr.; her former husband, Ross Sluyter and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her step-father, John Kraeger and two sisters, Donna Ricci and Keitha Griffin. Her funeral will be held Sunday evening at 7:00 PM in the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort with Brother Ed Bick, officiating. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 20 from 4-7 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
