Frankfort - Sara Sue Latella King, 71, of Frankfort, passed away, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Ilion on March 20, 1947, the daughter of the late John and Helen Beran Latella. She attended Frankfort Schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1965. She went on to attend the Utica School of Beauty Culture, HCCC and SUNY IT where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

Sara Sue was the owner and operator of Sara's Place in Frankfort and was employed by Catholic Charities, UCP and was the children's faith coordinator at Church of the Annunciation. She was actively involved in Frankfort-Schuyler Schools and was the cheerleader advisor for several years. Lovingly known as Tutu, Sara was a kind hearted woman who touched many lives. An avid musical theater lover, she enjoyed attending performances at Central Valley Academy and occasionally at Crane School of Music which Johnna attended. Tutu will be truly missed. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and the Church of the Annunciation.

Sara Sue is survived by her sister and brother in law, Danielle and James Bernard of Ilion; one brother and sister in law, John J. and Vivian Latella; her nieces and nephews, Debbie, Denise, Ann Marie, her special niece and Goddaughter, Johnna Bernard, Nicki, Jed and Kevin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was a special "mom" to Marie, Molly, Anita and too many of the Frankfort-Schuyler Cheerleaders.

Her funeral will be held August 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St. Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life following the interment service at the Ilion Elks Lodge, 8 West St., Ilion, NY

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sara Sue's memory maybe made to Lilah’s Foster House, PO Box 960, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes will be available in the church vestibule the morning of the service.
