Frankfort - Mr. Sam J. Tocco, 92, of 334 Second Ave. passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Frankfort on December 3, 1915, the son of the late Joseph and Florence Rampollo Tocco and he attended Frankfort schools. He was married to Sadie Piscione on June 18, 1938 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Sam and Sadie recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. Mr. Tocco worked as a Roller in the foundry for Union Fork & Hoe, Frankfort for over 45 years until his retirement in 1977. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Diamond Service Club of the Union, Fork & Hoe. Sam's life was his family. He enjoyed spending much time with his wife, sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. He was an avid baseball fan.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Sadie Tocco; two sons and daughters in law, Joseph & Susan Tocco of Frankfort and Salvatore & Rosalia Tocco of Hopkinton, MA; his grandchildren, Jodi & her husband, Patrick Doolen, Christopher Tocco and Stephen Tocco; three great grandchildren, Patrick Doolen, Joseph Doolen and Kayla Doolen; his in laws, Josephine & Fred Ferrucci of Herkimer and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one grandson, Joseph S. Tocco on August 29, 2003, five sisters, Clara DiMaggio, Mary Cimino, Josephine Parisi, Florence Sparagna and Anne Leone and one brother, James Tocco.
His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna assisted by Deacon James Bowers. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
