Frankfort - Mrs. Rose "Rosie Jinx" Jankowiak, 91, of 208 E. Orchard St. passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
She was born in Frankfort on January 12, 1918, the daughter of the late Charles and Mamie Nicolette and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Anthony J. Jankowiak on April 19,1947 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mr. Jankowiak passed away on January 6, 1998. Rosie Jinx was employed by Chicago Pneumatic, Utica for many years until her retirement on July 29, 1983. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. During the couples retirement years, they spent their time fishing and camping at the St. Lawrence River. Rose truly lived a Christian life, always willing to lend a hand or her home grown vegetables to her family and friends.
Rose is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by beloved husband, Anthony J. Jankowiak on January 6,1998 and her beloved son, Andrew J. Jankowiak on July 18,1968.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St. Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus. Rose will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery beside her mother, father, husband, son and aunt. There will be no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
They family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Sue Hamos at Dr. Love's office for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Rose through out the years. Her family would like to especially thank the Village of Frankfort's Police Department, whose presence provided a great source of comfort to Rose.
