Rosamond Roz Pennucci

Schuyler - Herkimer - Mrs. Rosamond M. "Roz" Pennucci, 88, of 108 Bono Blvd. formerly of Herkimer passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born in Norwood on March 20, 1922, the daughter of the late Clarence and Florence Megan Wells and she attended West Canada schools. She was married to Michael F. Pennucci, Sr. on July 7, 1946 in Herkimer. Mr. Pennucci passed away on January 22, 1997. Roz was at one time employed as a seamstress for Burtell's Dress Shop, Mohawk and later by Hale Manufacturing. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and a member Tony R. George Post #6 Aux., Herkimer where she served as Past President. Rosamond is survived by two sons, Joseph Pennucci of Ilion and Michael Pennucci, Jr. of Schuyler with whom she resided; two daughters and sons in law, Margaretann and Lauren Hailston of Herkimer and Michelle and Jacky Basard of Dijon, France; two sisters, Eleanor Markwart of Little Falls and Jean Foley of LA, one brother, Darryl Wells of TN; her daughter in law, Marie Pennucci of Little Falls; her sisters in law, Terry Wells, Rose Kraszewski and Lucille Perrone, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Ernest Pennucci; one grandson, Chris Pennucci; five brothers, Romaine Wells, Chick Wells, Arnold Wells, Clarence Wells and Douglas Wells, and three sisters, Edaree Perham, Marion Deal and Arlene Morris. Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
