Frankfort - Mrs. Regina S. Salamone, 89, formerly of Railroad Street passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in Folts Home. She was born in Amsterdam on October 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Frank and Matilda Marotta Skietroma. She attended schools there and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School with the class of 1937. Following high school she attended Business schools. Regina was married to Joseph S. Salamone in 1940 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Amsterdam. Mr. Salamone passed away on December 6, 2005. Joe and Regina were the owners and operators of Salamone's Market, Main St, Frankfort for many years. She was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Regina is survived by her nieces and nephews, Dee Congelo Gurdo of Clinton, Ann Fisher of Albany, Jack Daley of Reston, VA, Christine Daley of Franklin, TN and Martin Cleary of Waterville and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. A memorial mass will be held for her and Joe Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus. Interment in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Their funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave Frankfort.
