Herkimer - Ms. Phyllis E. Bajda, 89, formerly of Eureka Ave passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home.
She was born in Herkimer on August 22, 1918, the daughter of the late Adolf and Stella Bajda and she attended Herkimer schools. Phyllis was employed as a seamstress for many local dress shops for several years until her retirement in 1980. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and a former member of the St. Joseph's Church Choir and the St. Joseph's Rosary Society having served as a Past President.
Phyllis is survived by two sisters & one brother in law, Josephine & Steve Sadlon of Little Falls and Adeline Semour of Ilion; her niece and nephews, Kathleen Sadlon, James & his wife, Judith Conover and Larry & his wife Judy Conover and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brother, Frank Bartos, one sister, Mary Conover and her niece, Mary Jo Lees.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 am in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St, Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. "Please remember me in your prayers." Members of the Rosary Society will meet Wednesday evening at 6:00 for services.
