Philip Bongiorno
February 17, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Bongiorno, who died on February 17, 2026 surrounded by family, at the age of 62.
Phil was born on February 7, 1964, in Buffalo, New York. He lived a life marked by strength, love, and devotion to his family. To those who knew him, Phil was more than a family member, or friend, he was a steady presence, a source of guidance, and someone who showed his love through both words and actions.
Phil was known for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, and generosity. He made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He had a way of offering help without hesitation, and always knew how to have a good time. Those moments and stories will be cherished forever.
Above all else, Phil loved his family. His pride in them was evident in everything he did. His roles as husband, father and Poppy were ones he held close to his heart. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.
Phil is survived by his wife Joan Bongiorno, his two daughters and their families, Felicia and Matt Semerano, Amanda and Aaron Aykanian and 3 grandchildren, Roman (11) and Zoey (4) Semerano, and Charlotte Aykanian (5), his siblings, Joe Bongiorno, Cheryl Gilpin, Donnelle Stone, Debra Mackiw, and Richard Luvender, their families, as well as many other people he considered family including the many Millers and Duminucos.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Bongiorno, Barbra Luvender, his sister Mary Bongiorno, as well as members of the Miller and Duminuco family.
A service and celebration of life will be held in late spring in Frankfort, NY. More details to come in the following months.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with Phil. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., Frankfort.
Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Philip's online memorial page at www.iocovozzifuneralhomes.com.
