Lakeland, FL - Mrs. Pearl K. Tynda, 93, of Clearwater, formerly of Mohawk, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 in Lakeland Hill Health and Rehab Center with her loving family by her side.
She was born on April 3, 1923, the daughter of the late Timothy and Mary Pogar Konn, and attended Owen D. Young School and later Amsterdam City Hospital, graduating with her RN Degree. She was married to Nicholas Tynda in 1949 in SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Nicholas passed away on May 24, 1996. Pearl was employed as a Registered Nurse at Herkimer Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Main St. East Herkimer.
Pearl is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Martin John and Joan Tynda of Minneapolis, MN; one daughter, Elaine Tynda Hayes, of Summerfield, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Lucas Hayes of Rochester, and Alanna Hayes Burt and her husband, Ian, of Grand Island, NY and Tanner Nicholas Tynda, of Minneapolis, MN; her great-grandchildren, Kylee Hayes, Isabella Burt, Liam Burt and Mackenzie Burt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four sisters, Anne Frantzman, Ellen Dulak, Mary Opacki and Catherine Foley and two brothers, John and Andrew Konn.
Her funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer with Fr. Nikolai Meyers officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 10 AM 12 PM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
