Pauline Stark Waseleski

Mohawk - Pauline Stark Waseleski, 97, of Mohawk, passed away, Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Valley Health Services with her family by her side.

She was born in Columbia Center on October 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Swedick Stark. She attended and graduated from Owen D. Young with the class of 1937. Pauline was at one time married to Leo F. Waseleski. Pauline was employed by Univac in both the Ilion and Utica plants, later as nurse’s aide for Folts Home and she retired from Country Manor in 1985.

Pauline is survived by two sons and one daughter in law, Leo and Julie Waseleski of Victor and Robin Waseleski of Mohawk; her grandchildren, Jason Waseleski and his companion, Chrystal, Michael Waseleski, Rachel Waseleski, John Waseleski, Ashley and her husband, Michael O'Sullivan, Kaitlin and her husband, Jared Bevington,  Kylle Waseleski and Nicholas Waseleski and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Waseleski on July 29, 2006; her great-grandchild, Gavin on April 23, 2014; four brothers, Steven Staruck, Paul Stark, William Stark, John Stark and two sisters, Stella Scott and Anna Gifford.

Her funeral will be held Thursday morning, July 26, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer, with the V. Rev. Mark Cunningham, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her son, Michael. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 26th from 10:00 - 10:30 AM at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1508 Genesee St., Utica, NY 13502. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
