Frankfort - Nellie J. Bono, 90, of Second Ave., passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. Nellie was born in Frankfort on September 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Rosario and Mary Sciortino Bono.She attended Frankfort schools, graduating with the class of 1939. Nellie worked as a supervisor for Univac in the Ilion and Utica Plants until her retirement in 1975 after thirty years of service. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and its Altar Rosary Society, The Columbianna Society, Red Hats, The Young At Heart Senior Citizens and the Friends of the Frankfort Library. Nellie is survived by one brother and two sisters in law, Emmanuel and Sarah Bono of Springhill, FL and Lillian Bono of Frankfort; her nephews, Charles Bono of Liverpool, Leonard Bono of Frankfort and Mark Bono of Whitesboro; her cousins, Mary Vore, Tony and Charlotte Laura, Nina (Laura) Rumrill and Prudy Laura; and her friends, Grace Cardinal, Elsie Riesel and Gloria & Wesley Philips and family. She was predeceased by two brothers, Leo Bono on June 30, 1968 and Charles Bono on July 18, 1992; and one sister, Anne M. Aiello on January 16, 2003. Her funeral will be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 1:30 PM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 2:00 PM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 12:30-1:30, prior to the funeral service. Members of the Young at Heart will meet at the funeral home Thursday at 1:00 for services.
