Mohawk - Mr. Natale De Gristina, 81, of State Route 5S, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born in Frankfort on April 6, 1930, the son of the late Peter and Lucy Nicastro De Gristina and he attended Mohawk schools. Natale was married to Janice Hughes on March 3, 1959 in Mohawk. Mr. De Gristina and his brother, Carl were the owners and operators of De Gristina Brothers Farms for many years until his retirement in 1995. He was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Natale is survived by his loving wife, Janice; one son and daughter in law, Peter De Gristina and his wife, Sharon; two daughters and sons in law, Lucy and her husband, Bill Mattice of New Berlin and Natalie and her husband, Bill Cole of New Hartford; three sisters and one brother in law, Mayme and Sam Licari , Florence De Gristina and Lucille De Gristina all of Ft. Herkimer; one brother, Carl De Gristina of Ft. Herkimer; his grandchildren, Anthony De Gristina, Nicholas De Gristina, Tyler Cole and Savannah Cole; his in laws, William and Eleanor Hughes of Morris, NY and Millard Hughes of Rochester and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Vail. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S.
