Frankfort - Ms. Nancy M. Aversa, 82, of 324 Bee St. passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 16, 2015 in her home.
She was born in Frankfort on March 25, 1933, the daughter of the late Giacinto Jack and Rose Puzzilla Aversa. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1950. Nancy later attended and graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing with the class of 1953 with her received her degree as a Registered Nurse. Following her graduation, Nancy was employed as a Surgical Nurse for Ilion Hospital, Slocum-Dickson Medical Center for 22 years and lastly as the school nurse at Frankfort Schuyler Central School. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul's Church Choir, The Amen Choir of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, the Addolorata Society, Friends of the Frankfort Library and a member of the Board of Trustees and a Board Member for MVNH. She also was a volunteer for the March of Dimes and the Leukemia Foundation.
Nancy is survived by, her beloved nephews and nieces, Jack and his wife, Rosie Aversa, Cathy and her husband, Mark Roberts, Marty and his wife, Ioulia Aversa, Nancy and her husband, Ken Gutelius; her great nieces and nephew, Cassandra Aversa, Jacqueline Aversa, Felicia Aversa, Matthew Roberts, Erin Roberts, Elizabeth Aversa, Hannah Gutelius and Danielle Gutelius; her cousins, Thomas and Pat Ruffalo, Grace Cardinal, Anthony and Matia Laura, Angela Lomazzo, Carmelita and Frank Lercara, Carl Conigilio, the Nurod Family; her close friends, Hale and Josephine Chauvin, Pat and Phil Farouche, Carole Jean Crimmins, Eileen Manno, Gloria Falzarano, Linda Vivacqua, Frank and Marie La Puma, Donna Barrett, the Gage Family and the members of the Amen Choir. She was predeceased by five brothers, John Aversa in 1984, Louis Aversa II in 1930, Louis Aversa III In 1936, Martin J. Aversa in 2005 and Anthony Aversa in 2013.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday morning, August 25th at 9:45 from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday, August 24th from 4-8 PM in the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Addolorata Society will meet Monday evening at 6:00 pm at the funeral home for services.
