Mohawk - Miss Rose Lasorella, 92, of The Mohawk Homestead, 62 E. Main St., Mohawk and formerly of S. Main St., Herkimer passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in Little Falls Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Herkimer on March 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Vito and Lorenza Pasqualechia Lasorella and she attended Herkimer Schools. Rose was employed as an Assembler for Univac, Ilion & Utica Plants and later by MDS until her retirement in 1985. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, a member of the Crafty Ladies and the V.F.W Post #4915 Aux., Herkimer.
Rose is survived by her loving nephews and nieces, Joseph and Kathy Mancuso, Sam and Rosann Scialdone and family, John and Mary Jane Scialdone and family, Loretta and David Atkins and family, Marie Scialdone, Patsy and Judy Lasorella and family, all of Herkimer and Joseph Annese of Frankfort; her great nephew, Matthew Mancuso; great niece, Andrea Mancuso and great-great nephew, Anthony Mancuso and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Peter Lasorella, Frank Lasorella, Joseph Lasorella and Patsy Lasorella; three sisters, Theresa Scialdone, Anne Mancuso, Rose Lasorella and her niece, Suzanne Annese.
Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:00 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, September 13th from 4-7 at Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
