Herkimer - Mrs. Mildred A. Krenichyn, 87, of 105 Protection Ave. formerly of Eureka Ave passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Herkimer on August 19, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Tebinka Nakoneczny.She attended Herkimer schools and graduated from Herkimer High School with the class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Raymond Lewis on June 6, 1942. He was reported killed in action on January 29, 1944 during WWll in Germany. Mildred was later married to Stephen Krenichyn on March 6, 1948 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Mr. Krenichyn passed away on October 23, 1964. Mrs. Krenichyn was at one time employed by the Vogue and later for Remington Rand and lastly as a Cost Accountant for MDS, Herkimer until her retirement on September 6, 1986 after 20 years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and it's Sisterhood. Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend and she loved spending time with each and everyone of her family. Mildred is survived by two daughters and one son in law, Carol & Charles Higgins of New Hartford and Denise Paul of Denver, CO; one son & daughter in law, Kevin & Laura Krenichyn of Herkimer; her grandchildren, Tricia Paul of Denver, CO, Kevin Krenichyn Jr and Kayla Krenichyn all of Herkimer; four great grandchildren, Tyler Krenichyn, Dakota Krenichyn, Skylar Grodewald and Lukas Krenichyn; her sister in law, Helen Ciko of E. Herkimer; her nieces and nephews, Jan & Mary Dobek, Ronald & Donna Weir, Randy Weir and Lee, Ellen & Boris Glus, Mildred & Rodney Lowe, Michelle Ciko, Sharon & Michael Ritz, John & Sharon Ciko, Laura & Lee Howell, Danalee & Leon Capone, Lane & Kathy Krenichyn, Daryl & Vicki Krenichyn, Scott & Sue Krenichyn, Lisa Holynski and Steve & Jackie Leve and several cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Krenichyn, two brothers, Peter Nakoneczny and Michael Nakoneczny, three sisters, Nellie Weir, Ann Dobek and Mary Nakoneczny, her nephew and godson, Joseph Dobek and her niece, Deanna Ciko Rosenberg. Her funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 12:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 1:00 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church with the V Rev Ivan Semko officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 and Parastas Wednesday at 7:00 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home.
