Frankfort - Mr. Michael J. Jacopelle, Jr., 76, of 308 Second Ave. passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center. He was born in Frankfort on April 13, 1935, the son of the late Michael and Laura Minosh Jacopelle, Sr. and he attended Frankfort schools. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of Addolorata Society, Columbianna Society, Young At Heart Senior Citizens and a former member of the Frankfort Civic Club. Mike was a great supporter of the Frankfort Schuyler Knights sports teams. He was an Honorary Coach in Frankfort and could be seen at all the games. He participated in Frankfort Schuyler's Pop Warner, Little League, Modified Football, Junior Varsity and Varsity Football. He would aid any team member, was always there for the players and would support the efforts of Frankfort Schuyler's wrestling team, soccer teams and the cheerleaders. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, NJ Nets, Giants, Jets and the Buffalo Bills. Michael is survived by one sister, Anita Armaganian of Frankfort; his nephew, Mark & his wife, Nicole Armaganian of NH; two nieces, Ann Marie & her husband, Roger Congdon of New Hartford and Melisa & her husband, John Merlino of SC; two great nieces, Maria Armaganian and Camille Armaganian; one great nephew, Johnny Merlino; two aunts, Jean Jacopelle and Mary Gigliotti both of Herkimer; his dear friends who always took the time to visit Mike, Ted & Joanne Murray & their grandsons, Matthew and Ryan and several cousins. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the Young At Heart Senior Citizens will meet Sunday at 4:15 and the St. Francis Society at 7:15 at the funeral home for services. Mike's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mohawk Valley Health Care Center and Daycare for the wonderful kindness and compassion shown to him during his stay and passing.
