Mrs. Mary Samsel Herkimer - Mrs. Mary Samsel, 94, of Protection Ave. passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 in Bassett Health Care, Cooperstown, with her family by her side. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on July 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank and Sophia Ilvanczyk Dudish and she attended Little Falls schools. She was married to John F. Samsel on November 1, 1952 in Sylvan Beach. John passed away on April 26, 1994. Mary was employed as a waitress at the Palmer House in Herkimer for many years. Mary is survived by one sister, Anna Thornton of Herkimer; three brothers, Frank Dudish of Oneida, Nick Dudish of Ilion and John Dudish of Little Falls; her nieces and nephews, Kathleen Smith of Little Falls, Frank Dudish of ME, Michael Dudish of NC, Nicholas Diamond of CA, David Dudish of TX, Eric Dudish of CA, Yvonne Perry of Waterville and Lucinda Wright of MA and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Dudish Her funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
