Mary Nichols

Mrs. Mary Nichols Wilmington, NC - Mohawk - Mrs. Mary Nichols, 87, of 8830 Tilbury Dr, Wilmington, NC formerly of Mohawk passed away Friday, January 19, 2007 in Britthaven of Northchase, Wilmington, NC. She was born in Shenandoah, PA on October 25, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Anna Gulick Byrda and she attended East Herkimer schools. She was married to Steven Nichols on September 1, 1945 in SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church. Mr. Nichols passed away on October 29, 1981. Mrs. Nichols was a seamstress for several dress shops in the valley for many years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mary is survived by two sons & daughters in law, Peter & Joyce Nichols of Waco, TX and Steven & Helene Nichols of Clifton, VA; two daughter & sons in law, Barbara & William Wren of Clinton and Diane & Dr. Mark Darrow with whom she resided in Wilmington, NC; one brother & sister in law, Steven & Avis Byrda of Richfield Springs; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mary's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Spring interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
