Herkimer - Mrs. Mary Servello Mazzola, 93, of Mohawk St. passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Valley Health Services.
She was born in Herkimer on May 12, 1920, the daughter of the late Vincent and Rose Costantino Servello and she attended Herkimer schools. Mary was married to Sgt. Emmanuel Mazzola, US Army, in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Sgt. Mazzola was Killed in Action on March 20, 1944 while serving in Italy. Mary was a Seamstress for Derby Sportswear, Herkimer for many years until her retirement in 1970. She was a member of Redeemer Church, N. Utica.
Mary is survived by one brother and sister in law, Sam and Rose Servello of Frankfort; her sister in law, Joanne Servello of Utica and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Nick Servello, Joseph Servello and Anthony Servello and her sister, Angelina Servello Foster.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in Redeemer Church, 931 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, with her great nephew, Pastor Michael Servello, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 8th from 4-7 PM at Redeemer Church, 931 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica.
Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer.
