Mary J. Castellano

Mrs. Mary J. Castellano Frankfort - Mrs. Mary J. Castellano, 70, of 220 Fourth Ave passed away Friday, December 16, 2005 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. She was born in Naples, Italy on January 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Natalie Lombardo Iavarone. She attended New York City schools and graduated from NYC School of Music & Art. Following her schooling, Mary sang professionally using the stage name "Mary Rona" and sang throughout the country. She was married to Frank "Custy" Castellano on April 7, 1956 in St. Monica´s Church, NYC. Mary was at one time employed by Gorea´s Trucking for many years. She was later the Senior Reviewer for Metropolitan Life Insurance, Utica, N. Y. She was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church and served as the Organist and Choir Director for St. Mary´s Church, Frankfort from 1975-1978. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Frank "Custy" Castellano; three sons & daughters in law, Joseph & Linda Castellano, Frank & Connie Castellano and James & Anna Maria Castellano all of Frankfort; one daughter & son in law, Natalie & Donald Almond of Frankfort; her grandchildren, Donald & Jessica Almond, David Almond, Lisa Castellano, Natalie Almond, Nadine Almond, Sara Castellano, Carly Castellano, Joey Castellano, Ronnie Castellano, Frankie Castellano, Dominick Castellano, Donald Castellano and Jamie Castellano; her great granddaughters, Emily Almond and Haley Krandall; one sister, Dominica Zeigar of NJ, two brothers, Aldo Iavarone of NJ and Dario Iavarone of White Plains; her in laws, Mary Ann Castellano, Joseph & Patricia Castellano, Rita De Santis and Margaret & Peter Sebregandio; her uncles & aunts, Dominick & Sadie Carbone, Connie & George Sykes and Katherine Gualillo; special friends, Mary & Salvatore Di Christina, Mary & Thomas Thomas and Anne & Julio Abbruzzee and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Anthony Iavarone Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 9:30 am in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Monday 4-8 and Tuesday 4-8 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Mary´s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Strong Memorial Hospital´s ICU 8-3600 for their wonderful care shown to her during her illness and passing.
