Yorkville- Mary A. Gallagher, 98, passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 6, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Westfield, MA on November 7, 1911, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ann Wisiewski Stachelski. She was married to John P. "Jack" Gallagher in Sacred Heart Church, Utica on June 7, 1988. Mr. Gallagher passed away on December 14, 1992.
Mrs. Gallagher worked as a winder for Horrocks Ibbotson, Utica, until her retirement in 1961. She was a communicant of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church and a former member of the Yorkville Fireman's Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by two brothers, John Bell of Herkimer and Anthony and Emily Stachelski of Yorkville; her grandchildren, Lisa C. Larkin of Waterville, Craig Larkin of Syracuse and Greta and James Brunet of NC; two great-grandchildren; her special niece and Godchild, Joan Calhoun of Utica and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Edward Bell, Joseph Dzwonkowski, Stanley Dzwonkowski and Robert Bell; two sisters, Alice Pianka and Jennie Rodzinka and her husband Anthony; her step father, George Dzwonkowski and her son, Peter Larkin on September 18, 1999.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 1:00pm in St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Dellos. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Garden Mausoleum. As per Mary's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
Mary's family would like to acknowledge Carol Larkin, her devoted daughter in law and friend, who through the years always took the time to help Mary in any way.
