Mrs. Mary E. Paratore Costanza
Frankfort - Mrs. Mary E. Paratore Costanza, 104, formerly of Fifth Ave went home to the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in Valley Health Services.
She was born in New York City on November 6, 1902, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Rose Migliore Paratore and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Joseph Costanza on October 31, 1918 in New York City and the couple had four children. Mr. Costanza passed away on March 5, 1969. She was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Mary was the matriarch of her family who will be remembered for her love and respect of family. Her home was the central meeting place for all loved ones to enjoy her home cooked Italian meals.
Mary is survived by one son & daughter in law, Vito & Phyllis Costanza of Frankfort; two daughters & one son in law, Nancy & Joseph Diliberto and Rose Zito all of Frankfort; two brothers, Vito Paratore, and Frank Paratore both of Frankfort; one sister & brother in law, Rose & Pat Guarniere of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren who all loved, admired and respected Gram very much and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one son, Sam Costanza on January 18, 1955, her son in law, Paul Zito on February 17, 1962, three sisters and one brother in law, Florence Paratore, Josephine & John Migliore and Maria Paratore and two brothers and four sisters in law, Carl & Lucy Paratore and Joseph & Carrie Paratore, Anna Paratore and Stella Paratore.
Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:00 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 3-7 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Marys memory may be made to Valley Health Services or Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
As a resident of the Valley Health Services for many years, Mary made many friends who cared for her, from the Dietary Department, Social Services, Business Office, Maintenance Department, her hairstylist, Ceil Morton, the Activities Department all the way up to the Administration Director, Lisa Betrus and Dr. Ward, Dr. Cramer and the entire nursing staff on 2W, especially Marla, Missy, Dawn, Judy, Christina, Donna, Eric, Josh, Jeanette, Missy, Amanda and all the rest of the staff on her floor. You were all wonderful and treated her with kindness, respect and compassion, our family thanks you.
