Frankfort - Miss Mary Caiola, 98, of 219 Fifth Ave. passed away peacefully July 16, 2012 in Mohawk Valley Health Care Center.
Mary was born in Frankfort on July 29, 1913, the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Congelo Caiola. She attended Frankfort schools. Mary was well respected and known in the community as owner and operator of Caiola's Market on Frankfort St. for 57 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Columbiana Society, Santa Maria Della Providenza and the Addolorata Society.
Mary is survived by her brother and sister in law, Peter and Carmela Caiola of North Hills, CA and her sister in law, Mary Averson Caiola of Frankfort along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Virginia Caiola, Marion Sciortino and Mamie DiSano and two brothers, Carl Caiola and Anthony Caiola.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 24 from 4-6 at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
