Frankfort - Mrs. Mary R. Barberio, 84, of 218 Sixth Ave., passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Valley Health Services. She was born in Frankfort on March 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Peter and Frances Tocco Paratore and she attended Frankfort schools. She was at one time employed with Derby Sportswear. She was married to Dominick F. Barberio on September 7, 1946 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort, a blessed union of 27 years until Dominick's passing on July 6, 1974. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Columbianna Society. Mary is survived by her beloved son and daughter in law, Francis and Lu Ann Barberio of Frankfort; three granddaughters, Dina and her husband, Paul "PJ" Belmont, Danielle Barberio and Dominique Barberio; one great grandson, Parker Joseph Belmont; two brothers and sisters in law, Frank and Betty Paratore of Schuyler and Peter and Bonnie Paratore of Frankfort; her in laws, Julia and Steve Eskoff of Bloomfield Hills, MI; special friends Alex and Frank Palumbo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph F. Barberio on July 2, 2005; two brothers, Joseph Paratore and his wife, Josephine and Vito Paratore; three sisters, Shirley Farouche, Mildred and her husband, Joseph Sciortino and Ann and her husband, Michael Kowalczik; her in laws, Catherine and her husband, Joseph Paratore, Dorothy and her husband, Charles Jacopelle, Gregory Barberio and his wife, Beatrice, Rose Barberio, Mary Frances Chick and her husband, George Shank Green, Josephine and her husband, Frank Cortez, Theresa and her husband, Robert Harris, her niece, Mary Jean Paratore Nikolassy and two nephews, George Green, Jr. and Peter Paratore. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Spring interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
