Palmyra - Frankfort - Mrs. Marie Diliberto, 90, of 2366 Morrison Dr. Palmyra formerly of Litchfield St. Frankfort passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 in Pines of Peace, Ontario, NY.
She was born in San Giuseppe Jato, Province of Palermo, Sicily on December 3, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and Giovanna DiGuardi Bonafede. She attended schools there and came to the United States on August 15, 1929. She was married to Joseph Diliberto on July 10, 1948 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Mrs. Diliberto was employed as a seamstress for Joy Taylor Dress Shop, Mohawk for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joseph Diliberto; two sons, Salvatore Diliberto of Lansdale, PA and Joseph Diliberto of Macedon, NY; one daughter in law, Karen Diliberto of Macedon; five granddaughters, Amy Diliberto, Lisa Diliberto and Jennifer Diliberto all of Macedon, Heather Diliberto of Greenville, SC and Maria Diliberto of Lansdale, PA; four great grandchildren, Spencer, Brianna, Faith and Steven and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Anna Pedalino, Connie Diliberto and Joanne Bonafede.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus assisted by Deacon James Bowers. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort.
