Marie C. Casamento

Las Vegas - Mrs. Marie C. Casamento, 80, of 7809 Desert Candle Way passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Sunrise Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn on April 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Nunzio and Catherine Cinque Nicastro and she attended Brooklyn schools. The family relocated to Frankfort where they resided for many years. She was married to Walter Casamento on January 16, 1953 in Utica. Marie was an Accountant for McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA for many years until her retirement in 1977. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Las Vegas. Marie is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Walter Casamento; her sister in law, Mary Casamento of Herkimer; her nieces and nephews, Philip and Venus Casamento, Joseph and Barbara Casamento, Linda Casamento, Dee Dee Sagaro, Ken Sagaro and Raymond Sagaro. She was predeceased by her sister, Concetta Nicastro and two brothers, Costanzio Nicastro and Ralph Nicastro. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 AM in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 8:00 until the time of services in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
