Margaret Thuener
Frankfort - Margaret Thuener, 85, passed away on May 29, 2026, in Foltsbrook, Herkimer.
She was born in Ilion, NY, on July 10, 1940 the daughter of the late Glen and Lois Nichols Mower. She attended Frankfort schools. She was married to Otto Thuener on November 7, 1982 in the East Schuyler United Methodist Church. Otto passed away on February 12, 2014. Peg was employed at Trenton Technologies for many years and retired in 2016. She was an active and devoted member of Morning Star Ministry and served as secretary and treasurer.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Sandra Jacobs and Cindy DuPont; her stepchildren, Linda Peters, David Thuener and Cathy McElroy; four brothers and three sisters in law, George Mower, Jack and Evelyn Mower, Phil and Patty Mower and Chuck and Terry Mower one sister and brother in law, Edna and Richard Wasyleski; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren, her good friends, Lee Smith and David Briggs and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Thuener (Spouse), her father and mother, Glen and Lois Mower, one son, James "Jake" Jacobs Jr. in 2009, one daughter, Laura Jacobs in 2010, one brother, William Mower, one sister, Patricia Fortuner, two step daughters, Karen Thuener and Linda Peters.
Her funeral will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort. Interment will be in West Schuyler Cemetery at the family's convenience. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-6 at the V.J.Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc.
Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., Frankfort, New York.
Peg's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Nurses and staff of Foltsbrook for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her stay and passing.
