Louis A. Patrei

Ilion - Apalachin - Mr. Louis A. Patrei, 83, of 45 Wilson St. Ilion, formerly of Apalachin passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Presbyterian Home of CNY. Louis was born in Frankfort on October 23, 1927, the son of the late Arthur and Grace Feduccia Patrei and he attended Ilion schools. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged July 7, 1946. Louis was married to Viola Tripolone on September 25, 1948 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer. Lou was employed as the General Manager for Univac in both the Ilion and Utica plants for many years until 1977. He was later employed as a General Manager for Crown Manufacturing and Magnetic Labs, Apalachin, until his retirement in 1986. Following his retirement, Lou was the owner and operator of Township Cabin Restaurant, Little Meadows, PA for many years. He was a communicant of the Church of the Annunciation and a member of the V.F.W. as well as the Apalachin Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a Fire Policeman for many years. Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Viola; two sons and daughters in law, Arthur and his wife Karen Patrei of Liverpool and Louis J. and his wife Suzanne Patrei of Ilion; his beloved grandchildren, Janine and her husband, Michael Fitzgerald, Ryan and his wife, Gina Patrei, Kassi Patrei, Michael Patrei, Laura and her husband, Dr. Scott Brehaut, Nicholas and his wife, Nicole Patrei, Sarah Patrei and her boyfriend, Daniel Oliver, Christopher Patrei, Joseph Patrei, Whitney McGonigal, Heather McGonigal, Jamie McGonigal and Elizabeth McGonigal; one brother, Gil Patrei of PA; eight great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Samuel Patrei on June 9, 2001 and two brothers, Romeo Patrei and Anthony Patrei. His funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 AM in the Church of the Annunciation, West St.,Ilion where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barratt and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. Agnes Cemetery. His funeral arrangements are under the direction of the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort.
