Lois Webster

Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Herkimer - Lois Ellen Webster, 73, of Herkimer, NY, passed away at home on March 13, 2025, with family by her side. Born to Helen and Herbert Williams of Whitesboro, NY, she raised two children, Melissa and Russell, with husband, Ronald Webster, in Ilion, NY. She worked at Utica Zoo and Oneida County as a social worker; then went on to further her education at Suny Polytechnic Institute. Lois then moved to Geneseo, IL, with partner, Edward Klock, where she continued working for the local Office of the Aging.

After retiring, Lois decided she wanted to be closer to family. She relocated to Herkimer, NY, in 2020 to celebrate her beloved grandson Kaelan’s birthday and his marriage to Emma Watson.

Friends and family meant everything to Lois and she lived life to the fullest. She loved the outdoors, fishing, enjoyed campfire, coffee or drinks, playing cards, painting, and just making things to make others happy. She had a soft spot for turtles and faithful canine companions. Halloween celebrations with all of the kids were a highlight every year and Lois’ Christmas gifts of anise cookies and homemade penuche were highly coveted.

Lois is survived by her children, Melissa (Frederick) Weisser, and Russell (Juli) Webster. Her world revolved around her grandchildren, Kaelan (Emma) Webster, and Logan, Brody, and Flynn Webster, siblings Nancy Gilligan, Linda Williams, Robert (Jean) Williams, her several nieces and nephews, and her many grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition, Lois is survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, and special friends. (Too many to mention by name.)

Lois was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Herbert Williams, her brother, William Williams, two sisters, Carol Klch and Joan Turner, and her stepmother, Gladys WIlliams.

A celebration of life will be announced for the family at a later date.

Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, Herkimer.
