Frankfort, New York

On Christmas morning, in her home and surrounded by her family, Lee Ann Roberts-Woolever left this world the same way she lived in it: held in love, anchored in faith, and with quiet, steady strength.

Lee was born on December 22, 1959, in Utica, New York, to Patricia Mower and Richard Roberts.

Lee valued learning and perseverance, and her education reflected both. She graduated from JFK High School, earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Mohawk Valley Community College, completed her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at SUNY Institute of Technology, and went on to achieve her Master of Science in Information Design and Technology. She built a respected career with Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield in underwriting, actuarial, and analytical roles, earning trust through her expertise and reliability. She also worked as a freelance copy editor for tween literature, pairing her love of reading with her sharp eye for language.

Lee is survived by her loving husband, Michael Woolever, whose devotion, steadiness, and extraordinary humor carried her through everything. Motherhood was the greatest joy of her life, and she leaves behind her beloved children, Shannon Roberts (Amy), Cori Palmer (Michael), and Mikel Gorman (Brittany), along with her stepchildren, Derek Woolever (Tammy) and Jovonne Woolever (Ken). Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Ryan, Jordan, Ashton, Alondra, Raine, Isabella, Donovan, Darius, Jude, and Julian. She celebrated them, prayed for them, and loved them with every part of her.

She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Richard Roberts (Nicole), Mark Roberts (Kim), Michael Roberts (Donna), Matthew Roberts (Cynthia), and Kari Fortuner-DeSarro (Dave). They were her heart, and being their big sister meant everything to her. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including a special closeness with Christina and Angela. Lee was predeceased by her parents, Patricia and Richard, and her brother Kenneth, who preceded her in infancy.

If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you witnessed her sincerity, loyalty, humor, and warmth. She cherished lifelong friendships with Joyce, Donna L., Donna G., Kim, and Patty, and treasured lunch dates where laughter, conversation, and love were always present.

Lee believed in compassion, inclusion, and kindness. She carried a special tenderness for children with special needs and always advocated for patience and understanding. Her faith was fierce and unwavering, and it anchored her throughout her life.

Lee loved good stories with depth and a smart twist. She read endlessly, often finishing a book a day, especially mysteries and crime novels. She had wonderfully high standards, and when a book passed her test, you knew it was a good one. She also loved adventure and fun. Whether she was at the beach, out in the garden, traveling somewhere new, or soaking in the simple beauty of the outdoors, she embraced life fully. Lee loved to dance; as a proud member of USA Dance, she found joy, community, and pure happiness on the dance floor. She adored her cat Suzie, her companion for 18 years. Lee cherished traditions, family gatherings, humor, honest conversation, and the belief that connection is what makes a life meaningful.

In her final days, love surrounded her through extraordinary care. Her family wishes to express deep gratitude to Jan, her hospice nurse, whose care brought comfort and dignity when it was needed most.

Services will be held at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, 203 Second Ave, Frankfort, New York, on Tuesday, December 30th from 4-7 p.m. A prayer service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Donations in Lee's memory may be made to the LUNGevity Foundation to support small-cell lung cancer research.

Lee will be remembered for her wit, loyalty, courage, honesty, and the way she made people feel seen and loved. She leaves behind a world softer because she lived in it, and a family who will carry her always.
