Kenneth J. Sturcke
Mohawk-Kenneth J. Sturcke, 74, passed away on January 20, 2026, at home in the arms of his beloved wife, Ellen.
Ken was born on October 27, 1951 in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Charles and Marjorie Brooks Sturcke. He attended Westfield schools and graduated from Westfield High School. He later attended and graduated from White Pines College with a degree in Photo Journalism with the class of 1971. He was married to Ellen (Sarah) Brabble on October 16, 1971 in Colebrook, NH. Ken was the owner and operator of Meatheads Subs and Sloppies and Nothing New Music, both of Lakehurst, NJ. He well known guitarist and song writer and he and his wife would sing at many church groups, even recording an album. He was an active member of Richfield Springs Bible Church being a Deacon and Worship Leader for the church. He will be remembered for the love he had for his children and grandchildren more than anything and was so proud of them carrying on Christian faith. He was an avid fisherman, a hunter, and loved target shooting.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Ellen (Sarah) Sturcke; one son, Christopher Sturcke; three daughters and sons in law, Rebecca and Michael Brooks, Laura and Brian Colangelo-Picorale and Jessica and Cory Long; one brother and sister in law, Henry and Edel Sturcke; his six grandchildren, Cody Brooks, Tate Brooks, Evan Colangelo USMC, Johnathon Long, Caleb Long and Nora Long and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Edith Sturcke.
His family will have a celebration of Ken's life at a later date.
