Kathrinia Szpyrka

Richfield Springs - Mrs. Kathrinia Szpyrka, 86, of Taylor Rd. passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in the Ukraine on November 7, 1925. She was married to Dmytro Szpyrko on April 28, 1905 in Germany. Dmytro passed away on November 11, 1991. Kathrinia, along with her husband, were Co-Owner and Operator of Szpyrka Farms, Richfield Springs for many years. Kathrinia is survived by three sons, Peter Szpyrka and his wife Evelyn of Vernon, Steven Szpyrka of Florida and John Szpyrka and his wife Bonnie of West Virginia; two daughters, Ginia Holman of Chicago and Irene Bodenstin of Richfield Springs; and seven beloved grandchildren. In keeping with Kathrinia's wishes, her funeral will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer.
