Katherine Hula Fuller
Schenectady - Katherine Hula Fuller, 93, of Schenectady, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Ellis Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Richfield Springs, New York, on February 11, 1931, the daughter of the late John and the late Catherine Hula. She attended and graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1949 and later Austin Beauty School. She served with the US Air Force and was Honorably Discharged. Katherine was the owner and operator of Katie’s Beauty Salon, Utica, later a Cosmetology Instructor at the Capital Region BOCES and retired in the Claims Processing for New York State Higher Education, Albany. Katherine was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and it's Sisterhood, and the American Legion, Richfield Springs
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Anna Fuller Hadcox of Schenectady, NY; one brother and sister in law, Nick and Doris Hula of Richfield Springs, NY; three grandsons, Peter Hadcox, Walter Hadcox and his companion, Alida, and Bryan Hadcox; one great grandson, Levi Hadcox; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Hula and Betty Hula; her godchildren, George Hula, Steven Hula, Katie Doolen, Jenny Curry and John Shafer and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by six brothers: PFC John Hula US Army KIA Korea, George Hula, Steven Hula, Michael Hula, Wasyl Hula, and Peter Hula and, four sisters: Sophie Penree, Mary Hula, Anna Hula, and Rose Shafer.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Moore Ave., Herkimer where a funeral service will be celebrated by the Father Ivan Semko. Calling hours will be Monday, March 25, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort. Parastas will be held Monday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home with Father Semko Officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
