Karin J. Shannon

Frankfort - Mrs. Karin J. Shannon, 72, of Cemetery St. passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, April 23, 2016 while on vacation. She was born in Ilion on March 18, 1944, the daughter of the late Adam and Margaret "Peg" Zackey Fowler and she attended Frankfort schools. She was married to William P. Shannon on September 7, 1963 in Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Frankfort. William passed away on December 14, 2003. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the V.F.W Post #502 Aux. Frankfort - Ilion, St. Francis Di Paolo Society Aux. Frankfort and the Widows Group of the Mohawk Valley. Karin is survived by one son; William Paul Shannon of Frankfort; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Clay Cool of Frankfort; her three beloved grandchildren, SSG Derek J. and MaLinda Cool of Sierra Vista, AZ, Megan and Rane Wadsworth of Richfield Springs and Amy Cool of Frankfort; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Susan and David Archer of Ilion; her in laws, Sandy and Rick Clute of FL, Jim and Barb Shannon of Frankfort, Philip and Donna Shannon of Fairfield, Sue and Joe Meelan of New Hartford and Mary Fowler of Ilion and her beloved canine, Spunky. She especially enjoyed her Wednesday dinners and vacationing with her sister Sue and nieces Kimberly and Becky. She was predeceased by one brother, Adam Fowler, and one sister, Marge Lawton. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:45 AM from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Leo Potvin. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, April 29 from 4-8 at V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Members of the V.F.W.
