Julia Kowalczik

Herkimer - Mrs. Julia Kowalczik, 93, of 104 N. Washington St. passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Folts Home with her family by her side. She was born in Frankfort on October 15, 1921, the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna Brelinsky and she attended local schools. She was married to Peter Kowalczik on May 10, 1947 in Oneonta. Peter passed away on March 23, 2011. Julia was employed as an assembler for Remington Arms, Ilion for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Herkimer. Julia is survived by son and daughter in law, Peter and Cheryl L. Kowalczik of Dallas, TX; two grandsons, Jeffrey and his wife, Megan Kowalczik of Reston, VA and Staff Sergeant Philip Kowalczik serving with the US Air Force, Italy; three sisters, Sadie Steciak of Deland, FL, Mary Sidoran of Barneveld and Christine "Tina" Stanley of Denver; one brother and sister in law, John and Winnie Brelinsky of Middleville; her in laws, Sandra Brelinsky and Joseph Kowalczik and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by son, Ronny Lee Kowalczik on June 28, 1976, three brothers, Joseph Brelinsky, Steve Brelinsky and Louis Brelinsky and one sister, Helen Sobolowski. Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 6th at 11:00 AM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 443 Henry St. Herkimer. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Julia's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 443 Henry St. Herkimer, NY 13350.
